help and input keep UMME growing to be a great Christian
motorcycle ministry.
Please refer to the UMME
Bylaws page for bylaws by which your board will
function.

for Nominations
A
lot has changed in the last year with the UMME. It all began
in the spring when some of our Board Members resigned due to
their busy schedules and moves. At that time, we decided that
as a board we needed to meet and restructure. In April of this
year the remaining board members met in Granbury to discuss
the changes and what needed to be done to keep the UMME moving
along as smoothly as our riders ride! We restructured our
Guidelines into a set of By-Laws and reworded a few things to
make them easier to understand as well as to protect the
organization. We encourage you to take a look at those By-Laws
and let us know what your thoughts are. Your ideas are
important to us and we will certainly take them into
consideration. Keep in mind however, some of the articles can
not be changed regardless of how we feel, so if your
suggestions are not used just know that they were considered
and weighed heavily against all information we already have.
With
that said, let me fill you in on the current board of
directors and the openings we have, as well as what you can
do to help us fill those vacancies and keep the organization
running smoothly. Our
By-Laws state that we have eight Board members. They must
all be members of a United Methodist Church, with no two
members from any one UMME chapter. Our current Board of
Directors consist of Doug Gregory from the Granbury chapter
servings as our Board Chair; John McClelland from the
Mansfield chapter as the Vice Chair;
Shirley Dukes from the Comanche chapter as the
Secretary/Treasure; and J C Combs from the Temple chapter.
Applications are now being taken for the remaining four
seats. To apply for one of the open seats, please send a
resume containing the following information:

Applicants name, address and phone number
·
Name of UMC that nominee is a member of and length of
membership
·
Recommendations from UMME chapter and pastor of
applicants home church
·
Any other information you feel would qualify you for
a membership on the board
Let
me encourage any applicant to first read the
By-laws Article VII Board
of Directors and become familiar with them before applying.
Deadline for applications is March
1st
2009.
The existing board will meet in the spring to go over all
applications and pick board members for the four vacancies.
